If you’re planning a Thursday night drink tonight, make it green. Arkbikie Distillery’s sustainable Nadar vodka claims to save more than 1.5kg of carbon dioxide emissions per bottle by turning garden peas into booze, award-winning Somerset wine Dunleavy wine uses sustainable agricultural practices to produce its bottles, and BAME female-led wine brand, Folc, grows, produces and bottles its wine in England using sustainable practices, with plant-based corks and biodegradable labelling and packaging.

Its award-winning winemakers are accredited through Wine GB’s sustainability scheme and the company’s aim is to become fully carbon neutral over the coming years.

I tasted this wine some months ago and I remember that Elisha Rai mentioned to me at the time that it would go live on the 30th April, so I am hoping this is still the case and that is why I am highlighting it today! I am sure that her and Tom’s website at least will be listing it, so be sure to order some on Friday! Made from 53% Pinot Noir, 23% Pinot Meunier, 8% Chardonnay, 6% Bacchus, 6% Reichensteiner, 3% Schönburger and 1% Dornfelder this is one of the most delicate and tender English rosés I have tasted. Smooth and refreshing with the merest hints of rosehips and strawberry hulls, this is a tangy, herbal creation which a magical touch. I love the bottle shape and design, too, and I wish this dynamic team the very best of luck with this delicious venture.

A vibrant, upbeat English still rosé made by blending Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Bacchus, Reichensteiner, Schönburger and Dornfelder sourced from family-run vineyards in Kent and East Sussex. Plenty of summer berries, ripe peach and elderflower on the nose, crisp acidity refreshes a palate of raspberry and lime zest, with ripe strawberry jam coming through on the finish. A vegan wine in a characterful bottle, perfect for pairing with BBQ or drinking by the poolside.
