We Made an English Sparkling Rosé (And We Think You're Going to Love It)

Text: Katie Chubb

Our first English sparkling rosé has finally arrived – and after 23 months of traditional method winemaking with the finest grapes from across the South East, we reckon it's something pretty special. Made for people who love brilliant wine without the pretension.

Right, let's be honest, we've been working on this one for ages, and we're pretty chuffed with how it's turned out. Our first English sparkling rosé is finally here, and we can't wait for you to try it.

English Wine is Actually Brilliant Now

You know what? English wine has properly arrived. We just ranked 9th globally at the International Wine Challenge (mental, right?), and English sparkling wine sales have gone absolutely bonkers – up 187% since 2018. Even the French are buying vineyards in Kent. Taittinger dropped serious money on 70 hectares down the road from us.

But while everyone else is just figuring out that English wine is actually good now, we've been doing our thing for years. This sparkling rosé? It's everything we've learned about making wine that doesn't take itself too seriously but still tastes incredible.

Why We Don't Own Vineyards (Plot Twist)

Most wineries are stuck with the grapes grown in their backyard. Not us. We go out and find the absolute best fruit from brilliant growers across the South East of England. If the grapes are amazing, we want them. Simple as that.

It's called the négociant approach – fancy French term for "choose quality over convenience." Same thing the big Champagne houses do.

Our founder, Tom, puts it perfectly: "Every grape in this bottle is there because it's brilliant, not because it happens to grow near our winery."

This means we can guarantee you get lovely wine every single time, regardless of whether one vineyard had a dodgy summer or another had the best harvest in years.

The Wine Bit (AKA What You Actually Want to Know)

After 23 months of proper traditional method winemaking, we've got something special. It's a blend of the classic trio – 50% Pinot Noir for structure, 22% Chardonnay for that crisp elegance, and 28% Pinot Meunier for softness.

Quick facts if you're into that:

  • Made the traditional way (like Champagne)
  • 23 months on lees for complexity
  • 7g/L dosage (perfectly balanced sweetness)
  • Pale salmon pink and gorgeous
  • Vegan-friendly

What Does It Actually Taste Like?

Opening a bottle, you'll get these lovely aromatics – cherry pip, dried flowers, and honestly, scones with strawberry jam. We're not even mad about that last one.

Fresh strawberries and raspberries come through with delicate rose petals, plus those brioche notes from all that time on lees. It's sophisticated but not stuffy.

First sip? Fine bubbles, red apple, bright acidity, and this gorgeous blood orange finish that just hangs around perfectly. It's what happens when Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier decide to work together instead of fighting for attention.

Basically, it tastes like summer in a glass, but with enough complexity that you'll keep finding new bits each time you drink it.

Why This Moment Matters

English sparkling wine has gone from "oh, that's interesting" to "bloody hell, this is actually incredible" in about five minutes. We're talking 6.2 million bottles sold, 15 Gold medals this year alone, and proper respect on the international stage.

The thing is, Kent's chalky soils are basically Champagne's cousin. Same limestone, same potential, just with our own personality. While French houses are investing millions to figure out what we already know, we've been here perfecting our craft.

The People Who Make This Possible

Every bottle supports the family-run vineyards we work with. These aren't faceless suppliers – they're proper partnerships. When you buy our wine, you're backing growers who genuinely care about their craft, sustainable practices that look after the land, and local communities across the South East.

It's the kind of wine industry we actually want to be part of – collaborative, quality-focused, and built on relationships rather than just business deals.

Time to Try Something Brilliant

Our English sparkling rosé proves that English wine has well and truly made it. Traditional methods, exceptional fruit, zero pretension. Made for people who appreciate quality but don't want a lecture with their glass of wine.
