Our story

We Brits love rosé. It’s an undeniable truth – we enjoy over 100 million bottles of it each year. But what about English rosé? Provence has always stolen the limelight, but one of our country’s best kept secrets is that we can (and do) make amazing, and delicious, still rosé.

Folc began in 2019 with a vision to put English rosé on the map, and show the world just how amazing it is. Our founders, Elisha and Tom, obsessed with the pursuit of perfection, set out to create a rosé that was dry, fresh and undeniably delicious. A wine to rival (and even exceed) its Provençal cousins. A wine that creates joy for wine drinkers – to surprise some and delight all.

The South East of England is the most exciting new wine region in the world. It might come as a surprise that our climate is perfect for producing grapes that thrive in cooler climates – and these grapes happen to make delicious rosé. Fertile ground for a whole new generation of growers and makers, to skillfully carve a new path, in a region unbound by bureaucracy and tradition.

Our glass is the sum of many parts; 7 grape varieties, local producers, passion. Proudly negociant, we scour the region for the finest grapes grown on the best, independent, family-owned and run vineyards. The result? A glass half-full. Rosé with a reminiscent Provençal complexion, but with added depth of flavour crafted by local hands that make it.

Yet, Folc is so much more than a glass of wine. It means friends, family, community. Sharing, and supporting good local folk doing good work.

OUR MISSION

We have a bold mission; to defy expectations and invite conversations. Proving to the world that we too can make delicious Provençal style rosé on home soil.

Our obsession with wine goes beyond the product itself. It's about sharing that passion with the world and inviting you to join us on this journey.

OUR ROSÉ

We source only the finest grapes from the world’s most exciting new wine region – the South East of England. With higher temperatures and the most sunshine hours, this region is ripe for wine growers.

We work with local, independent, family-owned vineyards across Kent, Suffolk and Sussex. With a mix of chalky soils, sandy clays and greensand across the counties, the grape varieties we need for our rosé thrive here.

Our rosé is a blend of 7 grape varieties; all contributing unique characteristics and different flavours that blend perfectly together to make our finished wine.

The Pinot family forms the body of our wine – a beautiful blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Précoce sourced from Kent and Suffolk, complemented with organically farmed Pinot Gris from Suffolk. The Pinots are combined with Chardonnay, sourced from south-facing vineyards on chalk soil in the North Downs of Kent, alongside intense and aromatic Bacchus from the Kentish Weald, and finally finished with characterful Ortega from Suffolk.

Each varietal has been carefully selected, and blended in perfect measures to give our dry rosé its crisp, fresh, and bright profile.

Where Pinot Noir gives the wine its ripe red fruit flavours of wild strawberries, raspberries and cranberries, Pinot Précoce imparts sweet English cherries and Pinot Meunier the more savoury and greener side of red berry fruit. Chardonnay provides a fresh citrus burst on the nose and the palette, with green apple notes that add crisp acidity. Finally, Bacchus, Pinot Gris and Ortega add an aromatic layer of lychee, peach and white jasmine.
